The Woodlands Christian Academy Interact Club

 

 

The Woodlands Christian Academy Interact Club is one of the five area high school clubs sponsored by The Rotary Club of The Woodlands, which provides support and guidance to these self-governing and self-supporting clubs.

 

The Interact Club of The Woodlands Christian Academy is sponsored by The Rotary Club of The Woodlands. Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects.  Through these efforts, members develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of developing leadership skills and personal integrity, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others, understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work.  Woodlands Christian’s Interact Club has supported organizations such as:

  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • Beanies for Baghdad
  • The Forum Retirement Community, the Stonebridge Church Food Pantry
  • Samaritans Purse "Operation Shoebox" with Faith Bible Church
  • The Montgomery County Women's Shelter
  • The Montgomery County Teen Read Festival
  • Crawfish Boil benefitting Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Spring Bark benefitting the Montgomery County Animal Shelter
  • The Angel Tree Ministry with Crossroads Baptist Church
  • Children's Festival at The Pavilion
  • 10 for Texas Race
  • The Haunting Trail at the Bear Branch Recreational Center
  • ALS Walk
  • Lighting of the Doves
  • CB & I Triathlon
  • The Children of the Dump in Honduras

 

 

The Woodlands Christian Academy Interact Club

Membership

Membership is open to all high school students at The Woodlands Christian Academy between the ages of 14 and 18.  To join, students must complete and submit an application form.  Dues are $15 for new members and $10 for returning members who do not need to purchase another shirt.

 

Club Meetings

The club’s board of directors meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 11:40 AM to 12:10 PM starting in September.  The meetings will be held in the Head Of School (HOS) Office.

The club general meetings are on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at

11:40 AM to 12:10 PM starting in September (except holidays).  The meetings will be held in Lecture Room 108.

Upcoming Community Service Projects:

The Woodlands Christian Academy Interact Club will determine which of many possible service projects it will volunteer to participate in during the fall portion of the school year 2013-2014.

Requirements to Letter

In order to earn a letter in Interact, a member must earn at least 150 points in one school year as follows:

·         4 points for every meeting attended.

·         5 points for every hour served.

 

Furthermore,

Members must attend at least 75% of club meetings.

At least 75 points must be earned for working service projects, not from meetings.

At least 50 of the 150 points must be earned during the second semester.

Club officers automatically qualify to letter.
