On April 17, 2018, our Club presented the Show Me The Money program, a vocational service project to help guide Lone Star College and Sam Houston State University Students as they approach graduation and prepare for job interviews. We had an outstanding turn out of 21 students.
This year was one of the largest in our program's history. Career counseling coordinators at LSC and SHSU were appreciative of the professional role models represented by Rotarian volunteers, and student feedback was very positive. We provided information on Working a Job Fair, Interviewing Skills, Professional Dress For Success, and Financial Literacy. In addition, the students participated in one-on-one mock interviews with Rotarians. Committee members / Presenters included Jim Wang, Chris Gagne, Shannon Willems, Lisa Cowart, and Stephen Bauer. A team of 18 Rotarian mock interviewers provided students experience with a real life job interview.
