Jenny Carattini-Wright, Festival Director for The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival speaks at Rotary Lunch

Today, Jenny Wright, President of The Waterway Arts Council shared some interesting information about this non-profit organization. They are best known by The Waterway Arts Festival, but the Council does much more than that. In fact, the festival helps fund the other philanthropic activities the Council organizes every year.

They mentor youth with various programs and reach over 17,000 children at Title I Schools. The Council services those with special needs and circumstances by providing activities for CASA as well as working with seniors teaching therapeutic drumming.

Because of its popularity, the festival will be expanded to a 3-day event and will include artist exhibits as well as several performance arts stages. Proceeds from the festival help fund the other philanthropic activities of the Waterway Arts Council. Over the years, The Waterway Arts Council has given back over $500,000 back to the community.

Their signature event, Waterway Arts Festival, will be held April 10-12. We hope to see many Rotarians at the event supporting local artists either by volunteering or attending the festival.
